Hulon Newsome, Psy.D., NJ License #35S100379700
Owner
I am Dr. Newsome, a clinically licensed Psychologist in the state of New Jersey. I received my doctoral degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where my studies focused on Systems Theory, an area of psychology that prepared me to work with children and families. I also hold a Master of Arts in Adult and Community Counseling as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both obtained from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

I completed a 12-month, Pre-Doctoral Internship with the United States Air Force. Subsequent to this year-long training experience, I served three additional years as an active duty Captain and clinical psychologist. During my service with the USAF, I administered and provided direct care mental health services to active duty members, their spouses, and their children. My nearly fourteen years of psychological practice have given me a broad range of clinical experiences, exposure to a diverse client population, and opportunities to work in a multitude of clinical settings. I have provided treatment and evaluative services while holding administrative, teaching, and clinical positions in military, correctional, and law enforcement settings. All of these experiences have allowed me to pursue my mission of providing high quality behavioral health care services to children, adults, families and systems.

Currently, I am the owner of Newsome Psychological Services, Inc., wherein I provide evaluation and direct care services to adults, adolescents, children, couples and families. I am active in my state and regional professional associations as the past President and current Executive Board member of the South Jersey Psychological Association and 2016 President-elect of the New Jersey Psychological Association.

I participate in the Aetna provider network, NJ Medicaid network, and Blue Cross Blue Shield Traditional network, and accept self-pay clients.
